The central location of the guest house right in the heart of Garmisch-Partenkirchen offers many opportunities to pursue different activities - from sports to culture to a soothing relaxation. We would like to present a small selection of them below.
Summer
What's better on a beautiful summer day than to set off on an adventurous hike just a few miles from the guest house. Hiking maps are provided by us or may be downloaded online. Remarkable to visit is next to the mountain and the remarkable lakes, including the Eibsee, the Riessersee and - only a short drive away - the Staffelsee. The famous royal castles of Bavaria take only a short drive to visit. By car you may visit famous castle of Neuschwanstein in less than an hour, the Linderhof takes about 30 minutes to drive. To visit the hunting lodge Schachen a several hours hike is mandatory.
For lovers of Nordic walking we offer a variety of training programs (supported by our loyal partners) at an additional cost. In each case a refund by your health insurance might be possible. Those who prefer two wheels to move along you may set off for pleasant bike tours or mountainbiking trips.
The guest house is ideally suited for bikers. We offer on request, but at no extra charge, guided motorcycle tours through the entire Alpine region. Our spacious double garage with maintenance area is avaible for storing bikes at night-time. We also provide an extra dry-room for helmets, boots and clothing.
And if the wrong weather was ordered?
There are several alternatives to make your stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as pleasant as possible. Among other things you find in the village the Alpspitzwellenbad with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the Zugspitzbad Grainau and a spacious sauna landscape in the "Forsthaus Graseck". A cultural balance is being offered by taking a museum tour of Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Winter
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is known as a famous resort, e.g. as the host of the Alpine Ski World Championships in 2011. For all friends of winter sports, the guest house Alpenkranz cooperates with the Ski School Garmisch-Partenkirchen, more informations are available online. Again, the central location is a great advantage: the stop for the shuttle into the ski resort is just 300 meters in distance. Also, the Zugspitze Railway is only 500m away. On request we also offer guided ski tours in the whole ski area. Of course, our ski drying room is available after a relaxing day of skiing.
